Shorten makes a lot more sense than Crean. But as you said yourself, they don’t want to go down the path of NSW Labor and install a sequence of lame duck leaders. It only ensures an electoral massacre.
They’ll tough it out with Gillard and hope the Carbon Tax fear campaign fizzles out when it comes in. IIRC, the world didn’t end when the GST was introduced.
